September 2024, the French return

Some photos, and a wave of nostalgia led us to a search which, without too much difficulty, led us to the web page of the HeliClub De Lain – between Geneva and Lyon and to the distant memory (1996), when 37 private helicopters – of the prestigious French Club – came to visit us at the Massarotti Airfield, not far from Caltagirone.

Some photos shown here can unequivocally demonstrate the event, experienced by us air enthusiasts and members of the “Piccolo Stormo Aeronautical Club”, as absolutely unforgettable.

Today, the invitation to return to Sicily has had the desired effect, therefore in September we will return to welcome the French Friends, ready to celebrate the Event with an Aviation Twinning ceremony.

From this, we cannot exclude the possibility of returning the visit, thus consolidating a historic twinning between our Fixed Wing and their Rotating Wing, with its exciting aviation value.
